The IRIS Cyclone Compute board is based on the low power Cyclone FPGA from ALTERA corp. The board contains 4 Cyclone II EP2C70 FPGA providing the user 280,000 LEs to work with. That is equivalent to roughly a 2 million gate ASIC. The board can be used Stand Alone or in a System with a PCI Express x4 slot that takes in long boards. For stand alone and stacked use an ATX power connector is provided. The board works within standard tools flows from ALTERA, using the Quartus II tools. To use the board you have the flexibility of using the free web edition version of the tools.  Full version of Altera Quartus II is provided with the board.
