Cost Effective, Open, high Performance Platforms
IRIS Technologies Inc. was founded in 2000 by a group of experienced engineers and a management team with a single goal in mind: provide building blocks for scalable high performance platforms. We started out building the modules and components for parallel platforms and picked the telecom/router market as our first target vertical.
As a result, tremendous amount of Intellectual Property was developed: FPGA designs, Architecture, Software, Operating Systems and Highly Efficient MPI (Message Passing Interfaces). To build a scalable parallel router, we developed new scheduling algorithms for the system and the fabric, new pattern matching route lookup engines and algorithms, a new type of switch fabric. Our reliance on low cost solutions and internal development of HIL (Hardware in Loop) emulation platforms, cycle accurate simulation platforms gave rise to the current solutions we offer.
Our approach of maximizing design reuse and employing a "building block" strategy allows customers reduce time to market, save on NRE (Non Recurring Engineering) and Design costs, reduce TCO (Total Cost of Ownership). A Unique combination of reconfigurable and high performance computing allows a longer product shelf life. Re-purposing the product for evolving needs allows customers to save on TCO numbers.
